Portable Multi Gas Detector (5-7 Gases)

Improve worker safety with wearable and hand-held personal gas monitors. These devices clearly alert users about potential risks and enable them to take action. Our personal single gas and multi-gas monitors are effective for a range of industrial, response, hazmat, plant overhaul, oil and gas, public event safety, and environmental uses, including confined spaces, radiation detection and dose rate, and toxic gas monitoring. The monitors can detect and monitor a wide range of gases including Carbon Monoxide (CO), Hydrogen Cyanide (HCN) and Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S).

Why Purchase a Multi Gas Monitor?

Multi Gas detectors are most commonly used to satisfy the requirements of the Control of Substance Hazardous to Health 1999 (COSHH regulations), HSE EH40 and the Confined Spaces Regulations 1997. With the ability to monitor up to 7 gases and able to set to whichever sensor combination desired, they provide a unique tool in protecting against a multi threat gaseous environment.

The UKs Control of Substance Hazardous to Health 1999 (COSHH regulations) and HSE EH40 prescribe Workplace Exposure Limits (WELs). These WELs have legally binding status. If a substance is not prescribed under EH40 then its WEL can be found in its chemical Safety Data Sheet (SDS) under section 8. Under EH40 or SDSs Section 8 you will find Long Term Exposure Limits expressed as an 8 hour Time Weighted Average (TWA) and Short Term Exposure Limits (STELs), expressed as a maximum allowable average exposure over a 15 minute period.

The Confined Spaces Regulations 1997 prescribe procedures for atmospheric testing. Each person entering the confined space should be equipped with a portable gas monitor worn where it can be checked easily and frequently. It’s a must-have, life-saving tool that can be used in a wide range of industrial settings. The monitor you choose should include sensors for oxygen, where oxygen deficiency may occur, combustible gases, in order to detect explosive atmospheres and/or toxic gases such as hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and carbon monoxide (CO); additional toxic sensors may be used based on the application.
